Jeremy Alden McEntee

Well, Jeremy turns 8 weeks old tomorrow and things are getting back to normal for us - the 'new' normal that is. So here are the details:

Denise had to have an emergency c-section, but she is fine now, and Jeremy is doing great as well.

In the past 8 weeks, we've gone through lots of changes as you can imagine. Colin started off the few days while Mommy was in the hospital doing fairly well, but the change really got to him and he was having a really hard time by the time she was able to come home.

He has done an amazing job of getting back to being himself, and has turned out to be an amazing big brother already. Jeremy loves to watch him, and Colin is really doing a great job including him when he talks about family, and even is starting to do things like hand him a rattle and hold his hand. He says that is cool!

Jeremy and Denise came home after just a few days in the hospital, and we confined them to being upstairs for a while so she could heal up. Once we got past that, it was really amazing to see how well Denise did. It was hard to imagine what she had just gone through, and at this point she really has no physical limitations.

Jeremy has spent the last 8 weeks 'waking up' as all little babies do. Its really incredible to see how similar he and Colin look at the same age range.

As Jeremy is getting older, he is getting more of his own look - but its still amazing to see how similar they are.

So far Jeremy is doing great with things like being able to track Mommy or Daddy as we walk across the room, he loves to swing his arms out and kick when we sing to him, and he loves to smile. He makes the cutest little sounds, and have even gotten to the point where he can roll onto his side. Not bad for such a big kid!

He loves to watch the ceiling fan, and loves looking out the window through horizontal blinds - that must be a very interesting contrast to inspect.

He is really consistent about his bed time, and does a good job through the night - though we can't wait until that tummy can hold a little more and maybe knock out at least one of the feedings - but he can do 4-5 hours max., and usually its closer to 3 hours between feedings.

He has already moved into the next size diaper, and his pajamas are starting to get to small - so we may have to move up a size there in a week or so too!

As I mentioned, Colin has done an amazing job. He is getting into independent play at the right times, and is doing great with things like dealing with when the baby cries. At first is scared him and he wanted it to stop, but we explained that Jeremy doesn't have words yet and thats how he tells us things, and slowly Colin has gotten a lot better about it. There as still some rough patches, but we are very impressed with him.

Well, I just wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know the kids are doing great, and Denise is doing well too.
